Dr. McGowan received her dental degree from the University of Iowa in 2019. Afterwards, she completed two years of general practice residency at Hennepin County Medical Center. She completed oral and maxillofacial surgery training at the University of Minnesota in 2025. Prior to her professional training, Dr. McGowan received a Bachelor’s of Science in chemistry at Edgewood College in Madison, WI.
Dr. McGowan was called to oral and maxillofacial surgery during her time at Hennepin County Medical center while taking care of facial trauma patients. She continues to have a strong interest in maxillofacial trauma, and her other interests include orthognathic surgery, anesthesia, and benign pathology. Dr. McGowan participated in research regarding hyperbaric oxygen therapy for odontogenic infections and acellular fish skin grafts for oral wounds. She also enjoys teaching others and participates in continuing education events for other oral health care providers.
When not in the office, Dr. McGowan can be found outside enjoying time with her husband and her dog, or watching some live music at one of the many venues that the Twin Cities has to offer.
Dr. Afwerke received her dental degree from the University of Minnesota in 2018. After dental school she completed a General Practice residency at Hennepin County Medical Center followed by an Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery residency at the University of Minnesota. Prior to her professional training Dr. Afwerke earned dual undergraduate degrees in Biology and Psychology from the University of Minnesota.
Dr. Afwerke was involved in clinical and scientific research in residency with interests in pathology, orthognathic surgery, treatment of temporomandibular joint disorders and use of xenografts for intraoral and extraoral applications.
Her clinical interests include maxillofacial trauma, orthognathic surgery, cleft lip and cleft palate surgery, and dentoalveolar procedures.
Outside of the office Dr. Afwerke enjoys golfing, running, cooking, and traveling with her husband.
Brooke Moss, PA-C MPH is a certified Physician Assistant. Brooke has specialized in Dermatology for the entirety of her career, focusing on treating conditions such as acne, rosacea, warts and rashes. She also performs facial rejuvenation with injectables such as Botox and Dysport and consults on skincare recommendations and regimens.
Together with her sister, Lauren, Brooke is co-founder of The Skin Sisters. The two sisters founded their company as a way to share skincare information and expertise in an easy to understand way through Instagram @TheSkinSisters. Brooke and Lauren have shared their expert guidance on skincare on WCCO TV and Radio, Fox9 Morning Buzz, The Jason Show and in Mpls/St.Paul Magazine, Edina Magazine and various speaking engagements with businesses and corporations throughout the Twin Cities.
Brooke is licensed by the Minnesota Board of Medical Practice and credentialed by the National Commission on Certification for Physician Assistants. She holds membership with the American Academy of Physician Assistants, Minnesota Academy of Physician Assistants and The Society for Dermatology Physician Assistants. Brooke is also a course lecturer at the Augsburg College Physician Assistant Program. She completed her undergraduate degree at The University of Wisconsin – Madison and her Masters in Public Health and Masters of Science in Physician Assistant Studies at George Washington University in Washington, D.C.
Brooke lives in Edina with her husband Adam, children Zoe and Micah and golden doodle Hugo. She sits on the Board of Directors of The Hennepin Healthcare Foundation and in her free time enjoys supporting endeavors in the arts, culinary experiences and community resources for young families.
Dr. Ziegler earned his undergraduate degree in 2009 from the University of Wisconsin-Madison with a double-major in Biology and Psychology. He then earned his dental degree from the University of Minnesota School of Dentistry in 2014. After dental school, he earned his medical degree from the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine in 2018. He completed his specialty training in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center in 2020.
Dr. Ziegler is a graduate of Stillwater Area High School and is excited to be back in Minnesota. In his free time he enjoys cycling, downhill skiing, traveling, and spending time with his family and friends. He is a member of the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons and the American Dental Association.
Lauren Sundick, PA-C is a certified Physician Assistant. She has practiced medical and cosmetic Dermatology since 2008 and now brings her love of facial aesthetics, injectable neuromodulators (Botox & Dysport), and skin health to Oral & Maxillofacial Surgical Consultants after 13 years in Dermatology practice.
Lauren is co-founder of The Skin Sisters, a company founded to share expert skincare information in an approachable and easy to understand way. The Skin Sisters share skincare tips & tricks through their Instagram account @TheSkinSisters and on www.theskinsisters.com. They have shared their expertise on The Jason Show, WCCO Mid-Morning TV, Fox 9 Buzz, WCCO Radio, in Mpls. St.Paul Magazine, Edina Magazine, and through numerous speaking engagements.

Lauren consults on the development of skincare products, is a course lecturer for the Augsburg College Physician Assistant program, and serves as a mentor to fellow PAs and PA students.
Lauren and her husband, Bradley, live in Edina with their daughter and son. Lauren enjoys playing tennis, downhill skiing, and traveling with her family.
Dr. James Omlie received his undergraduate Bachelor of Science in
Biology from the University of St. Thomas in 2009. He went on to
graduate with Honors from the University of Minnesota School of
Dentistry in 2013. Dr. Omlie began his residency in Oral and
Maxillofacial Surgery at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center
(UPMC) in 2013. During this time, he received his Medical Degree from
the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine in 2017, completed 1
year of general surgery, and completed his oral and maxillofacial
surgery residency in 2019.
Dr. Omlie was involved in clinical and scientific research during his residency with interests in resorbable fracture/orthognathic plating systems and evidence-based management of medically complex patients. He authored two chapters in Perioperative Management of the Maxillofacial Patient and presented at the annual AAOMS meeting. Dr. Omlie is part of the executive council for the Minneapolis District Dental Society for 2023 as well as Co- President of the Twin Cities Oral Surgery Club. He enjoys all aspects of oral and maxillofacial surgery with particular areas of interest in orthognathic reconstructive surgery, dental implant reconstruction, dentoalveolar surgery, maxillofacial trauma, pathology, and anesthesia.
In 2025, Dr. Omlie was honored with the Minnesota Dental Association’s New Dentist Leadership Award, recognizing his outstanding contributions to clinical excellence, research, and professional leadership. This prestigious award highlights his ongoing commitment to advancing patient care and inspiring the next generation of dental professionals.
James is the son of our Dr. Mark Omlie. He grew up in Eden Prairie
and continued his undergraduate and dental training in Minnesota. In his
free time Dr. Omlie enjoys being with his family, waterskiing, downhill
skiing, studying history, and cheering for the Timberwolves, Vikings,
Twins, Gophers and Wild.

Dr. Spanel earned his D.D.S. from the University of Minnesota School of Dentistry in 2013, and completed his Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery residency at the University of Minnesota in 2017. Prior to his professional training, Dr. Spanel attended St. Olaf College and earned a degree in Biology in 2008.
Dr. Spanel is board certified in oral and maxillofacial surgery. Dr. Spanel resides in Eden Prairie with his family. In his free time,

Dr. McMahon completed his undergraduate degree
in Biology at St. John’s University in Collegeville, MN in 2007. He then
received his D.D.S. degree from Creighton University in Omaha, NE in
2011. After graduation, he continued his education in the hospital-based
General Practice Residency at the University of Minnesota. He went on
to complete his residency training in Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery
at the U of M in 2016.
Dr. McMahon is board certified in oral and maxillofacial surgery. His
clinical interests include pathology, maxillofacial trauma,
orthognathic (corrective jaw) surgery, and dental implant
reconstruction. He serves as a member of the Craniofacial and Cleft Lip
and Palate team at Minneapolis Children’s Hospital. He has presented
research at national meetings on both dental implants and cone beam
computed tomography (“3D” imaging).
Dr. McMahon lives in the Southwest Metro with his wife and their
three children. Outside of the office, he enjoys golfing, swimming,
running, fishing, skiing, and biking.

Dr. Neuner earned his D.D.S. degree from the University of Minnesota
School of Dentistry in 2006. He then went on to complete his four-year
Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery training in Washington, D.C., at the
National Naval Medical Center and Walter Reed Army Medical Center in
2010. Dr. Neuner practiced in the U.S. Army at Ft. Sill, Oklahoma, until
2014, during which time he became Board Certified in Oral &
Maxillofacial Surgery. He returned to Minneapolis to join Oral and
Maxillofacial Consultants in 2014.
Dr. Neuner enjoys the full scope of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery,
with a particular interest in dental implants, orthognathic surgery and
reconstruction. He is a member of the American Association of Oral
& Maxillofacial Surgeons and the American Dental Association.
Dr. Neuner and his wife, Maria, have four young children and live in
the western Twin Cities. He enjoys running, snow skiing, golf and
traveling.

They now reside in Edina with their young daughter and son. In his spare time, he enjoys running, gardening, skiing, traveling, and exploring the many wonderful restaurants of the Twin Cities.
