Dr. Haas grew up in Northfield, Minnesota, and was intensely involved in athletics, family and community through high school.
That energy changed focus at St. Olaf College into academics and he received a BS Degree in 1976 in Biology. He especially enjoyed integrative learning through a liberal arts education.
While in dental school from 1976 to 1980 he was selected to the Dental Exchange Student Program in Aarhus, Denmark. While studying in Denmark, the seed of oral surgery was planted while working with Dr. Jens Kolsen Pedersen, OMS. After graduating dental school, he spent an extremely interesting one year as a general practice resident in Hennepin County Medical Center. The OMS residency at the University of Minnesota followed, and he completed the program in 1984. Dr. Haas earned specialty board certification in 1988. He has been with Oral & Maxillofacial Surgical Consultants since 1984.
Professional interests include the full scope of OMS with particular interest in dentoalveolar, implant reconstruction and bone grafting.
Dr. Haas outside interests include athletics (golf and basketball) cross country skiing, hiking, traveling (he is a Europhile) music and the arts. He resides in Eden Prairie with his wife Sarah and they have two adult children.
