Dr. Tidstrom received his D.D.S. degree from the University of Minnesota in 1982. He practiced general dentistry with his father, Fred Tidstrom, in Ashland, Wisconsin from 1982-1985. Dr. Tidstrom completed a four-year Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery residency at Mayo Clinic in 1989. Upon completion of his residency, he joined Oral and Maxillofacial Surgical Consultants. Dr. Tidstrom lives in Chanhassen with his wife of twenty eight years, Leslie, and teenage son. His grown son and daughter are following in his footsteps and are also dentists.
Dr. Tidstrom is board certified in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and is a member of the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons and enjoys the full scope of oral surgery. Reconstructive orthognathic jaw surgery is a particular interest to Dr. Tidstrom. He is also an adjunct Professor at the University of MN, Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. Volunteering at Caring and Sharing Hands and mission trips to India with Alpha Ministries is also of great interest to Dr. Tidstrom. In his free time he enjoys hunting, waterskiing, cycling and downhill skiing with his family.
